MARSTON'S

Burton & District Cricket League

Thursday 27th August 2009 - 1pm

Hello everyone,

Apologies for the lack of updates but I can assure clubs that they will shortly, where appropriate, hear news regarding the items agreed after the dissolution of the league at the final AGM held in May of this year. Please bear with me.

The handbook has, unfortunately, had to be put back and will now not appear until some stage in the winter but it is hoped that we can publish it before Christmas (famous last words!). We are, I promise you, doing everything we can to publish it as soon as possible.

Clubs will be contacted where appropriate for relevant player information and photographs if possible. Information will also be requested for the extended lists, ie, The BDCL Thirty and The BDCL Junior Twenty. These players will be announced as soon as possible.

A reminder that the Batting & Bowling averages for 2008 can be viewed in League News along with the Fielding & Wicket-Keeping details.

The Six Cricketers of 2008 were:

Gary Edwards (Ashby Town)
Graeme Edwards (Ashby Town)
Jason Griffin (Hartshorne)
Nasir Khan (Medina)
Simon Moore (Ashby Hastings)
Mohammed Safeer (Medina)

The Four Junior Cricketers of 2008 (U17 & below) were:

Eric Arblaster-Hulley (Abbots Bromley)
Joe Cockeram (Yoxall)
Adam O'Donnell (Trentside)
Jake Poole (Ashby Hastings)

I hope all of our former clubs are enjoying their new 'homes' and myself and the former committee wish all clubs every success in future years.

Cheers for now,
Chris Oades
(former) Hon. Secretary
